Description
The bars are made from cocoa beans, cocoa butter, sugar. The infused bars have the particularity of having their cocoa infused with herbs or aromatic seeds. This V’vaya bar is infused with meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) with its very peculiar flavour and enhanced with roasted hazelnuts, cranberries and cornflower flowers. V’vaya cocoa, produced in Nicaragua by small farmers along the Rio Las Bayas, has an intense chocolate profile with strong tannins and fruity notes of cherry, blueberry and orange. Hints of herbs and spices enrich the aromatic profile.
Meadowsweet is very aromatic and has long been used to enhance wines, meads, beers and herbal teas. It is also said to have medicinal virtues: it relieves fever, joint pain and spasms and for good reason, it contains a precursor of aspirin.
V’vaya organic cocoa is certified under the Small Producers’ Programme, a fair trade label that places producers at the heart of its organisation.
